We left Friday Harbor with news of Transient Killer Whales up in the Strait of Georgia and 2 Humpbacks up there as well. Killer Whales (Southern Resident Killer Whales) J-Pod Playful Show.

That was our destination until word of Orca in Haro Strait came across my radio. We headed that way with a stop to see some Harbor Seals and another at Spieden Island to see some Stellar Sea Lions.

We were the last to leave Friday Harbor and passed up 3 other vessels and another from Orcas Island.  Even after the stops, we were the first to arrive on the scene. We observed the J16 matriline moving up the western side of San Juan Island. It is nice to be fast on the water.

J26 Mike and J16 Slick with her calf J50 Scarlet were there.  We also saw J36 Alki with her calf J52 Sonic.

I believe the breach pic is Scarlet but from this angle, it is hard to tell. A great day with these Killer Whales (Southern Resident Killer Whales) J-Pod Playful Show.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]
