We really made a long haul today to see T38’s, T60’s, T41’s, T109A’s and others. My guests and I went west past Victoria and on to Race Rocks. The first we saw was the T38’s with the matriarch T38A who has a reverse arrow white birthmark on her right dorsal fin. It looks like a space ship flying. I last saw this pod about a year ago I think in Upright Channel.
I headed over to Race Rocks to search for a local Sea Otter that frequents the park. On the way, we saw a very young Humpback whale and watched it for a couple surfacings.
Then we searched for Ollie the Sea Otter with no luck. However, we just happened to be there when multiple pods of Transient or Biggs Killer Whales were passing by. This is what we call this a Tee Party. It was pretty spectacular seeing about twenty whales pass by.
It was getting late due to the distance we traveled so we made our way out and headed home and it was a beautiful evening on the water after seeing T38’s, T60’s, T41’s, T109A’s
