Today was my last tour for 2018. We were fortunate to see a couple of whales before the gales hit in the afternoon.

We saw T65A2 a 14-year-old male who was traveling with T49A2.  I thought it was T65A, his mom by the nick on the dorsal fin.  A prompt from a colleague had me double check the nick.  Closer examination told me it is T49A2.

They finished up a meal of seal meat.  Seagulls were diving for scraps of blubber.  We stayed with them going west in Spieden Channel.

It was not the greatest day to take pics. The rain was heavy and messing with my meters.  My pics look grainy but that is rain.

A Young Whale Advocate

One of my guests today was 8 years old. Danny raised funds and donated to the Center for Whale Research.  It makes me smile to see the next generation of whale advocates starting out so young. What a way to spend the last tour of 2018.
