It was a choppy water day. Six boats out of Friday Harbor left in search of Whales and Orca. None of our whale watching boats found any on this day, which is rare.
We saw some exotic animals on Spieden Island, mainly Mouflon Sheep. Lots of Bald Eagles present today.
The winds were stronger than predicted which itself is not normal. Usually, NOAA does weather well, and if off a bit it is on the conservative side. Not today though. When we left Haro Strait was pretty decent. As we neared Pender Bluffs, it was picking up in Boundary Pass and Swanson Channel. When it was time to return we crossed Haro Strait which has been relatively calm earlier but was blowing pretty hard on the way back.
I made my way to Green Point to see some Stellar Sea Lions, but none were there at the time. We were making our way back to Friday Harbor picking our route for the smoothest water we could find on this choppy water day.
Here is a link to yesterdays tour where we spent time with T77A, a lone male. Another Pod had been spotted where we went today.
