Our tour started out leaving the harbor and heading north. On the way, we saw Harbor Seals on the way to view Humpback Whales. A Humpback Known as Apollo is who we were observing today. He was spending quite a bit of time in the eddies of Spieden Island. Apollo appeared to be feeding and taking his or her time moving along.
I cropped one of my images pretty heavily. In that photo, you can see the nest of Goose Barnacles growing on its tail fluke.
After a while left him and went to see other wildlife. There were maybe a dozen or more Bald Eagles on Spieden Island. Most were immature bald eagles and a few adults. In one of my pics, you can see where an immature is started to get his white head and tail feathers.
Mouflon ewes and their lambs were out. However, the rams were not visible. A pair of Canada Geese were sticking close to shore, sheltering a single gosling. Over on Flattop Island, we saw a mated pair of Black Oyster-Catchers. They have long red beaks and pink feet with a block body.
Many bald eagles, the mouflon, black oyster-catchers, and humpback known as Apollo was a fascinating tour with lots 0f marine life.
