Today we spent time with a pod of Biggs Orca known as the T18’s. It is two female and two adult male Orca. They were split up for our time with them in two groups of two. As we were leaving, they were about to join up again.
The weather was rainy, cold, and the lighting was not the best for pics.
No bloody kills today, just enjoyed viewing them as they were traveling along. We did see a chase that ended pretty quickly but not sure if they got their prey.
We saw a very young humpback whale feeding and surfacing but no fluke shots to identify it later. On the way back, we saw an Egg Yolk Jellyfish.
Then we spotted a drifting Avon inflatable dingy. It appeared to have been towed by a yacht and broke loose. I called it into the USCG and offered to tow it to Friday Harbor.
While towing the dingy, my guests spotted a Steller Sea Lion making its way up the channel.
This evening the owner called to thank me and offered a bottle of wine as a thank you. I told him I don’t drink and no need to do anything. He asked if I drink coffee and of course, I do. So I might have a cup of coffee waiting for me sometime soon.
