I had a tour with me today that were repeat guests both from last year and this year. We went out earlier in the week, and on the first day we saw J Pod making for a lovely day in the Salish Sea.
We went out the second day, and we were headed for a Gray Whale, but an erroneous report had me searching for it in an area where it was not seen at all for some time.
Today, our third tour this week, we were able to find the T46’s consisting of the matriarch T46, her sons T46D, T46E, and T46F plus her presumed daughter T122.
We also saw many seabirds today, including one Brant Egret in the frame with one of the Orca. Rhinocerous Auklet, a Surf Scoter mated pair, him with his goofy looking bill and eyes right out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon with Mel Blanc’s voice over. A mated pair of Long-Tailed Duck, a Pacific Loon (I think, it might be a common loon, breeding plumage not readily visible.)
There were a whole bunch of others, but I got a few decent pics of these. A beautiful day on the water with these beautiful creatures.
