Spirit of Orca Whale Watching and Wildlife tours has been offering Birding Tours for some time now. They are becoming more popular and I love doing them too.
We have 172 species of birds here in the Salish Sea, some year-round, some only in fall and winter, some in spring-summer.
This recent tour showcases some of our beautiful birds. We saw a Cormorant colony first, then a Bald Eagle. As I was making my way around the rock we had to stop and see these beautiful Stellar Sea Lions. Black Oystercatchers, and as I was approaching the Tufted Puffin colony I spotted a pair of Pacific Loons. There were Pigeon Guillemot, Rhinoceros Auklet, Harlequin Ducks, and many more.
