This past week I have viewed the T46B’s and T123’s. There were a couple of more pods I have not seen too. Today though I knew where a pod was I could not get to it. With this pandemic the water border is closed even though we do not touch shore on the Canadian side.

A humpback also spotted on the other side. I took us into Haro Strait, up into Boundary Pass along the border to the Strait of Georgia. I shut down a couple of times to glass for whales but did not see any. We cruised along the outer islands of Patos, Sucia, Matia, and then down towards Orcas and still scanned on the way back to Friday Harbor. Lots of marine life but no whales. There was a very pregnant harbor seal, meaning huge. A minus tide allowed us to view some Starfish and Sea Anemones. Some shedding Mouflon Sheep, Black Oystercatchers, and Bald Eagles. Stellar Sea Lions swimming by.

My guests will be coming back after the border opens back up. The flip side of that is that when I was watching the T46B’s and T123’s Canadians cannot come over to our side either so it hurts all of us. I am not complaining, I understand the reasoning for the water border closure, but I am anxious for when this is all behind us.
