We started south and saw some Stellar Sea Lions as we entered the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We were searching for Orca from the previous day but did not see them. We did see some Tufted Puffin and a Horned Puffin, plus Rhinoceros Auklet.

I traveled up into Rosario still searching then through the islands and into Presidents Channel and into Boundary Pass. We were able to view a pair of Humpbacks that I shared with my guests I thought it was Big Mama and Divot but wasn’t sure. Later another naturalist confirmed it was them.

On my afternoon tour, we went back to Big Mama and Divot until they crossed into Canadian Waters. Currently, the Canada and USA water border is still closed but hoping that ends soon. We then made our way over to Rosario Strait saw quite a few Bald Eagles and Harbor Seals and transited inter-island back to Friday Harbor.

I included one pic of a whale far away, about three miles into Canada where I saw a couple more humpbacks blowing and surfacing.
