We started out of the harbor looking for a pod that were in the area the night before. I took us north to the Outer Islands of Sucia and Patos Islands. Then we made our way over to where a Humpback Whales was doing long dives and showing up a ways off.

Trying to position us for a view when word came that the T65A’s had been spotted. We turned south and met up with them between Lopez and Orcas Islands. They were playful and enjoying themselves giving us a nice show. They were pointed to Pevine Pass into Rosario Strait when it was time to head back.

I took my second tour right to them, midchannel in Rosario Strait. They were pretty much in travel mode this time heading north. They swam by several Harbor Porpoise and a few Harbor Seals at Pea Pod Rocks. They just didn’t seem in a hunting mood.

The pod made their way over to Lummi Island and we followed their progress until they reached Villiage Point. We got our last views and a few more photos and turned back home. Water conditions were beautiful and it was a nice sunny day to spend on the water.
