There were multiple pods of Bigg’s in various places, a few Humpback Whales, and a Gray whale. We searched unsuccessfully on a Bigg’s pod sighting and ended up with K Pod. One of the big males was chasing salmon, twisting and turning to catch the fish.

We stopped by the rock to see black oystercatcher chicks but just saw adults. We traveled a lot of miles to finally end up off San Juan island viewing K pod whales. The water was rough in many areas and calmer in others.
