One tour today and we started off with Harbor Seals and Bald Eagles and then J Pod in Haro Strait. Eagles and seals are not usually on the same rock but today it was. The eagles had nabbed another seal pup and were waiting for their turn to feed on the carcass.
Then we moved on to view the Southern Resident Killer Whales. They were spread out pretty wide as is the norm these days. We saw J38 Cookie, J26 Mike, J31 Tsuchi, and her calf J56 Tofino and a few more including Echo.
The sea was a bit of a roll today, not any seas to speak of just a confused roll of 1′ to 1 ½’ which was enough to make picture-taking a little hard to do. While viewing J Pod I spotted an Egg Yolk Jellyfish to share with my guests.
On the way back in we stopped to view a Cormorant colony with their unique way of building their nests up like a tower.
