Two pods of Bigg’s spend time in the US waters today. There were tons of private boaters out crowding the whales and very frustrating to see NOAA police on site but not engaging for the most part
On my afternoon tour, I put another set of photos together to send off to WDFW. An unbelievable situation where a yacht had positioned himself to be with the whales when they surfaced then kept running under power within 100 feet of them. Three of us professional whale watchers were blasting our air horns at him. As he passed by me I was taking their pictures and someone on board hollered over “Get Over It”. Some folks have zero respect for the wildlife and an attitude of flaunting their desire over what the law prohibits.
