We started north in search of a pod that had been spotted at 6:30 am. We found them up north of Orcas Island and took a bit but identified them as Southern Resident Killer Whales. Once identified we eased our way out and headed for a humpback whale.

The humpback was elusive, so we moved on to see if Ottis, the sea otter, was still in the same spot. He had pulled a “Jimmy Buffet” and rode the tides to his next destination. We started for Sidney, BC to view a pod of Bigg’s when another pod was picked up in Rosario Strait. We turned back and got some pretty sweet viewing of this pod of six with a calf. Notice the photo bombs that also happened.
