We ventured a good ways today to within a few miles of Port Angeles but it was worth the trip. The Biggs pods we saw today were the T46Bs, T86As, and T123s, for a total of nine orcas. Then we shifted north a couple of miles to see a humpback whale, but while waiting for him to surface, I spotted breaches happening a couple of miles to our northeast. On the way there, we saw about eight breaches and a couple more when we got close. I was only able to capture one of the breaches with my lens.
On our way home, I stopped by Whale Rocks, where we saw two bull Stellar Sea Lions get into a bit of a fight.
“The Sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.”
