Today, we witnessed the T65Aa Whomping on a harbor seal.
On the first tour, we met the T65As near New Dungeness Spit and Lighthouse as they were spread wide and traveling. On the second tour, we met the same pod off Protection Island just as they were whomping on a seal, which you can see in some pictures.
On the second tour, we also saw an Elephant Seal lazing on the beach, but he got concerned when he saw the orcas beachcombing for seals. There was one moment when about fifty seals on the point bolted for the water and swam around the corner from us.
“The Sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.”
