We spent our time today with the T49As, with Mom needing quiet time, or “me time”. T49A herself was alone for just shy for an hour that we were there observing her. She made two seal kills that we saw, while the kids were on the other side of the small island, we were watching them from. Eventually, the kids joined her, and they started traveling north again.
We enjoyed her presence, and she seemed to enjoy her time without the kids and killing a couple of seals.
We also saw Ottis, the sea otter, harbor seals, stellar sea lions, black oystercatchers, bald eagles, an egg-yolk jellyfish, and more.
