There were also many seabirds including Tufted Puffin, Rhinoceros Auklet and Bald Eagles.

On the way to the Orca, we saw Bald Eagles, Harbor Seals, and Stellar Sea Lions. At the bottom of the island, we pulled out of their path and watched them swim on by us. Then we made our way out to see a pair of Tufted Puffin before turning back to see the Biggs Killer Whales. The harbor seals are always a bit skittish, and maybe that is a good thing. Harbor Seals are a favorite snack of the Biggs Killer Whales, and I frequently refer to them as Orca Sausages.

The Orca was pretty playful yet again for another day. We saw them a couple of days before, and they are always a beautiful pod to see.

I stayed with the orca until they swam past a couple of rocks that seals typically haul out on. I was hopeful for a hunt, but it did not happen. So we left them, and I took us up island to see a pair of Humpback Whales. One I could tell was named Split Fin because of a damaged dorsal fin.

The other Humpback is known as Pepper. I learned today that Pepper has never been documented in the Salish Sea before but usually has been seen up north in Alaskan waters. A day of memories as we viewed the T65A’s and Humpback Whales.
