T65A2 as a rebel
Our morning tour started off heading south and stopping off to see Harbor Seals, Harlequin Duck, and Black Oystercatchers. We also stopped at Whale Rocks and saw some Stellar Sea Lion bulls before heading west to see T65A2. T65A2 as a Rebel. Over the last couple months he has broken away from his mom and siblings a couple of different times.
He has been traveling with his aunt and cousins the T65Bs. He then joined up with his mom and siblings for a while and then back yet again with his aunt and cousins. The last couple of days he has been alone. I am sure he will meet up with his mom and siblings again at some point. I am also curious why he left his aunt and cousins before seeing his mom and siblings.
We also saw Bald Eagles and Rhinoceros Auklet on our tour.
Long Haul West of Victoria
It was a long haul to meet up with him west of Victoria and a long haul back. On return, I fueled up and was ready for the next tour just in time. We left the dock and headed south intending to meet up with a pod that had just been located. It was the T46Bs and T46B1s. The B1s, include T46B1B who’s name is T’luk but I refer to him as Casper. He is not a true albino but has more white than black pigment.
As we left the harbor all of a sudden my boat broke down. If you are out here long enough, you will experience a breakdown. A week ago we were taking passengers from another company with a breakdown, today it was my turn. I was bummed but I was able to get my guests onto another boat just getting ready to leave the harbor. We tied up along side each other and they stepped from my boat to the other and away they went while I was towed to the dock.
I am glad we were able to see T65A2 as a rebel and loner today. I was so looking forward to go see Casper but it was not going to happen today.
