Today was chilly and rainy at times but was still a fun tour with Sea Bears and Humpbacks. We started north and came upon not just one but several Sea Bears, aka Stellar Sea Lions thrashing salmon with seagulls hovering for their portions.
Some of the exotic Mouflon Sheep were out on Spieden Island. Pushing on we found some Harbor Porpoise in passing and then a group of Dalls Porpoise.
I made my way into canadian waters and we saw some Stellar Sea Lions hauled out. I cropped one image a little more to see what I often see and that is these guys with disgusting runny noses, yuck.
We saw plenty of Canadian Bald Eagles and then we spotted a pair of Humpback Whales. I recognize the dimple on the one near the dorsal fin but don’t recall its name.
We watched them for a bit and then headed for home. On the way back another group of Dall’s Porpoise that really engaged and interacted with the bow of the boat. I shared a video by my guests of this interaction on my personal FaceBook page. If you are a friend you can go there to see it.
