Yesterday we had the T137s and T99s nearby, within 15 miles anyway. The day before I traveled 109 miles to finds these guys and five other captains also searching after a sighting but they eluded us all.

Today, they meandered their way into Friday Harbor by the docks. I went out by myself to get a few pics. Here is how I spent my afternoon.

T99 has three notches near the top of her dorsal fin. Last summer while everyone was viewing humpbacks in Rosario Strait, I had a group that absolutely wanted to see Orca so we went searching.

I found the T99’s and it was Sara with Maya’s Legacy who helped me figure out who we were watching. I did not have my ID guide with me. I took a pic with my iphone at the back of my camera’s screen. She knew right off who we had and let me know it was the T99’s (T99 is featured pic). Thankful for the cooperative relationship we all have with eachother here.
