Wow, what a day for a bucket list success T124As & T124C.
We started north up into Boundary Pass and over to Patos Island. We stopped for a bit glassing into Georgia Strait looking for blows and fins. Not seeing any we continued on to Rosario Strait making our way south with nice calm water so far. When we reached the Strait of Juan de Fuca in got pretty choppy.
In Juan de Fuca I made my way to Smith Island where I photographed some Harlequin Ducks and Tufted Puffin. About that time I saw that the T124As & T124C and T100’s were in Swanson Channel southbound.
I took us back up to San Juan Channel and we headed to the border. Once there we shut down and waited. The waiting paid off as the pod of Orca were making their way from Canadian waters into USA waters. I think we had a glimpse of the 100’s further out but not with the main group.
It was a very pleasant way to end the day. During our voyage, we also saw Pigeon Guillemot, Mouflon Sheep feeding on seaweed during low tide, Bald Eagles, Stellar Sea Lions, and more.
