It was a cold and wet one today as we caught up just in time to see the T65A’s cross over into Canada. We had maybe a couple of surfacings before they started moving out of decent sighting distance. I grabbed a few pics before they were too far out.
Then we just happen to have a Humpback Whale close by to view. He was pretty difficult to predict and took a while to get close enough for a couple of decent shots. I never was able to get a good fluke shot to ID him or her.
On the way to the whales, I stopped to share a Bald Eagle. Now home on the computer, he seems to be having an awful day with the wet rain and bad hair day.
After viewing the Humpback for a while we started south scanning for other whales but did not come across any. I did stop to admire the reflection of Lime Kiln Lighthouse on the water’s surface. I stopped by the Cormorant colony at Goose Island. Pretty impressive how they continue to build their nests up high. I have seen a Bald Eagle land right in the middle of their nests and it drives them all crazy.
