Started south today and viewed Harbor Seals, Bald Eagles, and Stellar Sea Lions, and a Brown Pelican. Then I heard a pod of Orca was located up north so we reversed course and headed north.
Once on scene, we were viewing the Bigg’s pod of T18s. This is a family of four whales.
We spent time with them on all three tours today. On the last tour, I was the last boat on the scene with them at Patos Island.
They seemed to chase several seals but I never actually was able to confirm a kill.
On the way home on the last tour, I stopped by to see the Black Oystercatcher chick I have been following its growth and survival. Its sibling was taken out by a Peregrine Falcon a couple of weeks ago.
My last tour was an anniversary tour and I want to shout out congratulations to Meagan and Nathan and wish you many more happy returns and celebrations in your life and many Orca on your anniversary times here in the Salish Sea.
