Today was one of those days when we did not have any early reports of sightings. That means we all leave the docks in different directions and start searching. The last couple of days have been more difficult because of fog in the morning.

When I leave the dock I ask that my guests keep an eye on the horizon looking for blows, fins, backs, breaches and holler in case I did not see it. Today that is exactly what happened, one of my guests spotted a fin and hollered out. It was the T10’s, consisting of T10 and T10C, two Bigg’s Orca.

They pounced on a porpoise and enjoyed that meal between the two of them and start doing a bit of a celebration dance with tail lobbing and splashing around. It was so nice to have this mother and son pair to visit us for the day. I had hoped to take a family out this evening from the previous day but the pod made their way back into Canadian waters.

Today we also saw Steller Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, a Brown Pelican, Black Oystercatchers, Bald Eagles, Mouflon Sheep and a very non-typical Fallow Deer.
