It was an hour ride to the 49th Parallel of Latitude to see the Southern Rezzies off of Vancouver BC. J Pod and some of L Pod were spread out over several miles foraging, playing, and trending south.
We saw lots of breaches and cartwheels. A couple was swimming upside down and waving their tail fluke.
We also saw NOAA Fisheries out again harassing, stabbing and tagging the Orca. A couple of them were slapping their tail in frustration of having a boat over their backs. One that the crew was trying to tag was laughing at them. By that I mean they would head for her and she would show up on the opposite side of them. She did that about four times that I observed.
It is very nice to have clean air and clear skies these past couple of days, I am hopeful the rest of the state along with Oregon and California can be done with the forest fires soon.
