This day would be a longer trip, or so I thought. However, when I got to the boat and checked my sightings app, a group of orcas had been found amongst the islands. As we idled away from the dock, a resident moocher splashed at us because we were not giving him a snack. We headed over to view the T65Bs and 75Bs. They were on a treadmill going nowhere, if not backward at times.
We left them to look at stellar sea lions and spotted three kingfishers flitting around on the shoreline. When we returned to see if the orcas had passed by the fast current, we discovered they had turned to the east and quit fighting the faster water.
We viewed them a bit longer before it was time to head back to the dock. On this trip, we also saw David and Barbara on their sailing vessel, “Peniel,” on which Laurel and I were married last September. If you would like a relaxing and peaceful experience on the water, their sailing excursions are the best. Here is a link www.allaboardsailing.com
