Orcas Tormenting a Rhinoceros Auklet

We jetted south to Holmes Harbor to view the T77s and got there just as the orcas had finished eating a seal kill, so we missed that show. However, something even more spectacular was next, and we witnessed it and laughed. The orcas began tormenting a rhinoceros auklet who was too full of fish to fly. They tail-slapped him, chased him, and just scared him. He was very agile, though, even if he couldn’t fly, and avoided being killed for sport.

Look at the orca pics and notice the auklet trying to get away.

We saw many of our usual animals, plus we saw Ottis slamming clam against clam on his belly to get to the meat. He was living large.
