Our Tour today was with the T99s in Hood Canal. We started out seeing Ottis the sea otter eating green sea urchins. Then a run up to PeaPod Rocks to see seals and bald eagles. That is when we heard the T99s had been spotted at Point No Point in Admiralty Inlet. The consensus was that they were northbound.
We started south for the T99s, and when we finally got there, they were well inside Hood Canal, traveling south. There was fog, heavy tidal turbulence, and a great distance, and I looked at the round-trip mileage as we were nearing Anacortes and saw we were going to surpass 120 nautical miles. It was a hard day for this run.
“The Sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.”
