T2C’s and J Pod Orca for today. The first two tours were with the T2C’s. Not a whole lot of activity with them today. They are a very unique family to be sure. T2C2 has Scoliosis of the spine. His family waits up when he lags too far behind and they bring him food.
The youngest is T2C3 and he is semi Albino with gray and white. Black and white is typically associated with Killer Whales.
For the evening tour, we heard that Resident Killer Whales were inbound at Otter Point. My hope was that they would be here by the evening tour and sure enough they were.
We were able to see several J Pod members including J38 Cookie chase and torture harbor porpoise. They will not eat them. They just torture them for entertainment. I saw J2 Granny do this a couple of times before she died. But again would not eat them. Why I do not know. They desperately need the calories but they don’t switch up their diet.
Stellar Sea Lions, the worlds largest are a regular sighting for us here. There were Harbor Seals including one nursing from a female. I really question if it was a pup as it looked like an adult seal.
What a great day with T2C’s and J Pod Orca.
