This is heartbreaking to see, day after day.

On our way to J Pod, we saw a few sights. Bald Eagles feeding on a seal pup or what was left of a seal pup. Only the skull and spine remained.

Pupping season is here. Many of the newborn pups fall prey to the Bald Eagles.  You will see one pic with a very dirty bald eagle. That is dried blood all over his head and body.

We met up with J Pod and L Pod whales in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.  I did not her but Sound Watch and one other vessel had eyes on J35 Tahlequah. Tahlequah is J17 Slick’s daughter. Tahlequah Carries Dead Calf with her.  It is now 8 days since her baby girl died.

The water was pretty rough. Meaning I didn’t get as many good photos as I would have liked. The Eagle and seal spine pic is pretty cool though.
