The morning started off with us heading north away from the rough water in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. I received a radio that T’s had been located in Haro Strait so we made our way there. It was Biggs and Rough Water viewing.
At an island along the way, we viewed Bald Eagles. We only saw one adult and the nest where the eaglet must have been hunkered down out of the wind. The other adult was nowhere to be seen.
Then we proceeded through some rough water making our way to the whales. We were with a group of four Orca that made an occasional stop to devour a seal though we did not see the blood and meat evidence of their kill.
On our way back we stopped near Yellow Island to view Harbor Seals. A Stellar Sea Lion was swimming close by but he was camera shy today. The Biggs and rough water was a mixed blessing.
