Orca Are Like Kids. Today we were treated to an interesting scene. We were with a group of Transient Killer Whales that were playing with their food. In this case a Harbor Seal. If you look at most of these pics you can see a seal scared out of its skin trying to get away from the Orca.
They were twirling around going in circles, taunting the seal. Eventually one pounced on it and they shared the morsel amongst themselves. In a couple of the pics, you can see the seal trying to leap out of the water to get away.
This reminds me of when I was a kid watching “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom”.
Nature can be brutal but it is pretty cool to witness behaviors similar to humans. In this case, Orca Are Like Kids.
